Where bids go wrong

What other carpentry estimates miss.

  1. Backing for everything mounted later — grab bars, TVs, casework, handrails.

  2. Trim mitre and return waste, which runs high on short runs and detailed profiles.

  3. Punch-list carpentry after the finish trades, budgeted as its own crew day.

  4. Material grade and species changes between the specification and the millwork schedule.

What is the difference between carpentry and millwork?

Carpentry covers site-built work such as blocking, trim and installation. Shop-built casework is estimated under millwork.

Do you count blocking?

Yes. In-wall blocking for accessories, cabinets and equipment is counted from the elevations, because it is commonly missed.

Can you use our cost book and labor rates?

Yes, and we prefer it. Your historical costs reflect your crews and your suppliers better than any published average. Send the template and we work inside it.

How does pricing work?

Pricing is per project and quoted before any work starts — no retainer, no minimum volume and no subscription.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. Drawings, specifications and pricing are treated as confidential by default, and we sign your NDA on request before any documents change hands.
