Masonry Estimating
CMU, brick, stone and veneer counted by wall area and unit type, with grout volume taken from the cells that are really grouted rather than the elevation count.

- wall area by unit type
- CY
- grout volume
- LF
- joint reinforcing, flashing, control joints
- EA
- lintels, bearing plates, anchors
- MSF
- brick per thousand
Scope
What we measure.
Measured from
Elevations, wall sections, masonry details and the structural grout and reinforcing schedule
- 01CMU · 8" Loadbearing
- 02Face Brick Veneer
- 03Grout · Solid Cells
- 04Joint Reinforcing
- 05Lintels & Bearing Plates
Where bids go wrong
What other masonry estimates miss.
- 01
Which cells are actually grouted — the structural notes rarely match the elevation count.
- 02
Scaffolding and mast climbers, priced by wall height and duration rather than by area.
- 03
Cold-weather and hot-weather protection where the schedule puts the wall in the wrong season.
- 04
Cavity flashing, weeps, cavity drainage and air barrier tie-ins at every horizontal break.

Every quantity is traceable to the sheet it came from, in the units the trade buys in.

FAQ
Masonry Estimating, answered.
Talk to an estimator
Not a salesperson. Same-day answers on working days.
+1 518 974 7222[email protected]Do you count block or measure by area?
Both. Wall area is measured net of openings, then converted to unit counts by block size with bond beams, lintels and grouted cells broken out.
Are grout and reinforcing included?
Yes. Grouted cells, horizontal joint reinforcing and vertical bars are measured from the structural schedule.
Can you use our cost book and labor rates?
Yes, and we prefer it. Your historical costs reflect your crews and your suppliers better than any published average. Send the template and we work inside it.
How does pricing work?
Pricing is per project and quoted before any work starts — no retainer, no minimum volume and no subscription.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. Drawings, specifications and pricing are treated as confidential by default, and we sign your NDA on request before any documents change hands.
